AMERICAN EXPLORER HOME INSPECTION COMPANY IS OWNED
AND OPERATED BY TWO OKLAHOMA BORN BROTHERS, WHO’S PARENTS OWNED A PAINT AND DRYWALL COMPANY. OUR FATHER STARTED
OUR EXPERIENCE “TRIP” IN THE BUILDING INDUSTRY IN OUR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS (1963 TO 1967 & 1964 TO 1968).
Ken Stinnett:
*Granite
Hills High School (1963 to 1967). Worked all four years, summers and weekends for my dad’s Paint and Drywall company
*Grossmont Community College (1968 to 1969). Worked
two years of summers and weekends in the Paint and Drywall industry.
*San Diego State (1970 to 1971), Played football for Don Coryell, affectionately known as AIR CORYELL.
Worked two years of summers and weekends in the Paint and Drywall industry.
*After college attended General Contractor License College in San Diego, California, and became one
of the youngest licensed general contractors in the State of California. License #296927.
*After a career of over 200 custom homes built, again with my brother in charge of construction.
We decided to retire from the building industry. A few years later I knew there was a place for my skills and decided
to start with my brother (see his bio next) AMERICAN EXPLORER HOME INSPECTION COMPANY.
We have worked
for PARDEE CONSTRUCTION, RAY HOLMES, J.R. SHATTOCK, BARRETT HOMES, LION HOMES, AVCO FINANCE, ETC..
Don Stinnett:
*Granite Hills High School (1964 to 1968). Worked
summers and weekends in our father’s paint and drywall business.
*Grossmont Community College (1969 to 1970) continued to work in the paint and drywall business.
*Attended drywall contractors license school in 1972 (license
#275420).
*President of A-tone Painting and
Drywall (1976).
*1982 I joined my brother
in the development and construction of over 200 custom homes in Southern California.
*After trying retirement from the Home Construction industry, I was approached and offered a job
as Chief Engineer for Murrieta Hot Springs Resort. A 100 year old, 400 room, 47 acre hot springs complex. I accepted
the challenge.
*Murrieta Hot Springs Resort
was eventually sold to the Calvary Chapel. It was transformed into a bible college and retreat. The challenge
of refurbishing these famous grounds was to exciting of a challenge to say no. The next six years I WORKED ON all renovations
to streets, buildings, water features, gardens, etc., as well as having the opportunity to join in the building of their new
chapel.
*With the skills and knowledge gained
over my life’s work in the construction trades I have moved these skills into an area that my brother and I believe
to be in need of dedicated and qualified individuals.
*As
a team, my brother and myself are now “AMERICAN EXPLORER HOME INSPECTION, COMPANY.”
